About us

Simulation-first engineering for systems that must perform under pressure.

SimUX Defence was founded in 2025 in Cambridge by two young entrepreneurs, after an idea that first took shape during a series of pub conversations.
What started as informal discussions soon became a clear vision: complex, mission-critical systems need rigorous simulation and validation before they face real-world conditions.

SimUX Defence is a simulation-led engineering studio specialising in safety-critical systems, autonomous operations and human–machine interaction.

We design, test and validate systems for sectors where reliability, human performance and operational readiness are essential.

Simulation Before Deployment

Designing confidence before systems reach the field

At SimUX Defence, simulation is not an afterthought or a visual aid — it is the foundation of our engineering process.
We use simulation to explore uncertainty, stress-test assumptions and understand system behaviour long before real-world exposure.

By modelling how systems perform across normal, edge and failure conditions, we help teams make informed decisions early, when change is still possible and risk is manageable.

What simulation enables

Risk discovery

Identify operational, technical and human risks before they become field issues.

Scenario coverage

Test systems across a wide range of real-world and extreme conditions.

Design iteration

Refine concepts and interfaces quickly based on evidence, not guesswork.

Decision support

Provide stakeholders with clear, simulation-backed insight to guide development.

Validation That Builds Trust

Turning tested concepts into operationally ready systems

n safety-critical environments, trust is not built through demonstration alone — it is earned through validation.
Our validation-led approach ensures that systems perform as intended when people, technology and operational context come together.

We focus on proving not only that a system works, but that it works reliably, repeatedly and under pressure.

What validation delivers

Human-in-the-loop testing

Evaluate real operator behaviour, workload and decision-making.

System integrity

Verify performance, resilience and fail-safe behaviour under stress.

Operational readiness

Assess how systems fit into real workflows, roles and constraints.

Evidence and confidence

Produce clear validation outputs that support trials, reviews and deployment decisions.

How we work

A clear, evidence-driven approach focused on reducing risk and delivering systems ready for real-world operation.

Simulation-first development

We use simulation as a core engineering tool to identify risk early, test assumptions and shape system behaviour before deployment.

Evidence-based validation

Our approach relies on measurable outcomes, structured testing and clear evidence to support confident technical and operational decisions.

Human-centred design

We design systems around real operator needs, focusing on usability, workload and decision-making in complex environments.

Operational readiness mindset

We assess how systems perform within real workflows, constraints and scenarios to ensure they are ready for use, not just demonstration.

Sectors

We support safety-critical sectors with simulation-led products and services designed for real-world operational demands.
